Poor Adam Thomas was left in tears after the judges\u2019 comments on his second Strictly Come Dancing performance.<\/p>\n
The Emmerdale star, 35, is partnered with Luba Mushtuk, 33, this series and made his dancefloor debut last week with a lively cha cha to Waffle House by the Jonas Brothers.<\/p>\n
Adam and Luba scored 19 for their first performance and while their score went up to 23 this time, the feedback wasn\u2019t exactly glowing.<\/p>\n
The actor and his Russian pro gave it their all with an intense tango to Somebody Told Me by The Killers.<\/p>\n
Alas, Adam felt he had to apologise to Luba for \u2018letting her down\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u2018This is a different Adam to last week, last week I did understand the smile to get over the nerves, this week you were more engaged, you wanted to take control over everything, and there was a power in your movement,\u2019 judge Motsi Mabuse began in her comments.<\/p>\n

\u2018I do feel the character of the dance could\u2019ve been stronger in your technique,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n
Head judge Shirley then chimed in: \u2018I actually thought the character was the best part.<\/p>\n
\u2018It was all a little bit soft, we could move a little bit more moving forward on your footwork.\u2019<\/p>\n
Anton Du Beke then noted that there were \u2018some mistakes\u2019 as Adam and Luba were \u2018out of sync with each other.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018You could make a really lovely ballroom dancer, your posture is really good,\u2019 he praised.<\/p>\n
\u2018Your arm is too wide, if you could get your left arm in and angle through the left arm, it would smarten the whole shape up.\u2019<\/p>\n

Ending on a positive, though, he assured Adam: \u2018Your movement was good, well done, you.\u2019<\/p>\n
Resident Mr Nasty Craig Revel Horwood said: \u2018There were definitely sync issues and it needs to be danced more on one level, but it had power, it had intent, and it had drama.\u2019<\/p>\n
Adam kept his cheery expression despite the criticism, as host Claudia Winkleman was on hand to comfort him.<\/p>\n
Asked how he was doing, Adam sarcastically replied: \u2018Yeah, I\u2019m great. I\u2019m on top of the world.\u2019<\/p>\n
When Claudia hailed him the \u2018smiliest\u2019 contestant, he joked: \u2018I\u2019m not smiling now, I\u2019ll be honest with you.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018I tried my hardest and I just feel like I let you down,\u2019 he said to his pro.<\/p>\n
\u2018No, you didn\u2019t!\u2019, Luba disagreed instantly.<\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m sorry,\u2019 Adam apologised.<\/p>\n

Always there to pick up the pieces, Claudia comforted him.<\/p>\n
\u2018It\u2019s week two, they said the choreography was brilliant, they loved the performance, I don\u2019t want you to be hard on yourself.\u2019<\/p>\n
Luba also told her celeb partner: \u2018I loved dancing it with you, I\u2019m so, so proud, it was amazing.\u2019<\/p>\n
\u2018I tried my best tonight, hopefully, that will be enough,\u2019 noted a deflated Adam.<\/p>\n
Taking to Twitter following his performance, Strictly viewers were keen to build Adam back up.<\/p>\n
\u2018ADAM DID WELL HE NEEDS TO STOP BEATING HIMSELF UP\u2019, exclaimed one viewer.<\/p>\n

Another wrote: \u2018Adam is very hard on himself. It\u2019s always those people who get to the final! He needs to ease the pressure on himself a little though. I enjoyed it!\u2019<\/p>\n
Strictly has been far from an easy ride for Adam so far, who has a chronic health condition.<\/p>\n
The dad-of-two was\u00a0diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis ahead of the show, an inflammatory autoimmune condition that can impact movement and affect his training.<\/p>\n
To manage his condition, Adam has been taking \u2018really strong medication\u2019, admitting it\u2019s been \u2018tough\u2019 but he\u2019s \u2018on the road to recovery\u2019.<\/p>\n
