Line of Duty star Vicky McClure teams bridal gown with trainers as she marries partner Jonny Owen
Vicky McClure, known for her roles in Line of Duty and This is England, excitingly revealed to radio listeners that she's tied the knot to long-term partner Jonny Owen.
The couple, who have been together for 10 years, made the announcement live on Jonny's daughter, Katie's, radio show.
After they got hitched, the 40-year-old, who is step-mum to Katie, and husband Jonny, 52, called in to Radio Wales where she is a presenter to tell of the lovely news.
Introducing the newlyweds, Vicky excitedly said: "We’re married!"
She continued: "We’ve had the most amazing special day and we’re gutted you [had] to go back but we’re so proud of you. You’re missing lots of dancing but we can do that again."
Katie then asked them to pick a song to celebrate and they chose the classic Happy Together by The Turtles.
Unfortunately Jonny's daughter Katie had to rush off after the wedding ceremony to get back for her radio show, so the pair made sure she was still involved in the celebrations.
Up until then, the couple had kept their nuptials a secret but admitted they were married in a ceremony at the Council House in Nottingham yesterday, with a party in the evening held at the Metronome in the city.
And many famous faces were in attendance, including Vicky’s fellow Line of Duty co-stars Adrian Dunbar,Martin Compston, Craig Parkinson and writer Jed Mercurio.
Plus, film director Shane Meadows, This Is England star Thomas Turgoose, and Wales football manager Rob Page, Everton manager Sean Dyche and TV host Paddy McGuinness.
The actress wore a stunning bardot-style satin wedding dress from Halfpenny London, paired with a stunning veil, waved hair and low-key make-up. While Jonny opted for a navy double-breasted suit, light-blue tie and corsage.
The happy couple then posed for photographs with their guests and were seen beaming from ear to ear on the special day.
The pair have been together for 10 years and got engaged on Christmas Day in 2017.
At the time, Vicky said: “We stayed at home for the first time together on Christmas Eve so had Christmas morning together.
“He popped the question over a cup of tea – we moved onto the bubbles by 8.30am.”
