Piers Morgan brands Prince William ridiculous for skipping Womens World Cup
Prince William and Princess Charlotte wish Lionesses good luck
Prince William appeared alongside his daughter Princess Charlotte to send well wishes to the Lionesses in the Women’s World Cup Final, but the sweet message has sparked fury from Piers Morgan.
In the video message to the England team via social media platform X – formerly known as Twitter – the Prince of Wales, 41, revealed he wouldn’t be able to make it to the match in Australia.
The announcement enraged Piers, who believed it was “ridiculous” that the Queen of Spain would be present at the match to support her country’s team, whereas William would be absent, despite his role as President of the FA.
Piers reposted the clip from Kensington Royal’s official account, which featured the caption “Good luck for tomorrow @Lionesses”.
The TalkTV host then hit back: “With respect, YRH, you should have got on a plane.

“Ridiculous that the Queen of Spain is attending the World Cup Final to support her nation’s team, and you won’t be there despite being President of the FA.”
It comes after the heir to the throne was filmed sitting on a bench next to his and Princess Kate’s eight-year-old daughter, Princess Charlotte, who held a football, to deliver the message.
William began by saying: “Lionesses I want to send you a huge good luck for tomorrow.
“We’re sorry we can’t be there in person but we’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved and millions you’ve inspired here and around the world.

“So go out there tomorrow and really enjoy yourselves.”
Princess Charlotte concluded the video by saying: “Good luck lionesses.”
Fans were divided over Piers’ reaction to the royal video, with some defending William for his decision to skip the final.
One person swiped: “You love telling famous people where they should be this week don’t you Piers.”
“Climate change piers, can’t fly private jets anymore,” another fan pointed out.
However, others sided with Piers, with one social media user remarking: “I bet he would be at the Mens World Cup final…. This is terrible!!”
“Leaders need to fulfil their obligations and responsibilities. Usually a supporter of Prince William, but he is failing them and himself!” Another person agreed.
England’s Lionesses will compete for the title against Spain in the final, which will be held in Sydney on Sunday.
