Priscilla Presley honoured by foundation that helped combat opioid crisis
Priscilla Presley addresses how she and Elvis first met
Priscilla Presley was honoured with the Legacy Award from the Victoria’s Voice Foundation at its Music For Life gala over the weekend.
The ‘Queen of Versailles’ Jackie Siegel presented the 78-year-old with her monumental award at the lavish event in Florida.
Jackie and her husband, David Siegel, co-founded the foundation together in 2019 after their 18-year-old daughter Victoria died from a drug overdose at their Windermere home.
The foundation has since endeavoured to raise funds and combat the opioid crisis, with Priscilla herself revealing why the cause is so near to her heart.
In front of hundreds of attendees, Jackie revealed that Priscilla had been chosen for the iconic award for her resilience and determination that showcases “the true power of human spirit”.
She shared as she accepted the Legacy Award: “Throughout my life, I have seen firsthand how drugs devastate families.
“This award inspires me to continue advocating for those impacted by addiction and who live every day in fear that their loved ones will be taken from them.”
The former wife of Elvis Presley shared her thanks with David and Jackie, and some admiration for how they had turned a “painful loss” into a “force for good”.
Priscilla and Elvis’ late daughter Lisa Marie also notoriously struggled with an opioid addiction in the 2000s, as well as a few other substance abuse issues.

The 54-year-old tragically died in January after suffering a fatal cardiac arrest.
While Priscilla never remarried after splitting from Elvis just four years before his death, she and her former longtime partner Marco Garibaldi did welcome a son together, Navarone, who also had a spat of substance issues including synthetic opioid fentanyl, according to the Daily Mail.
The Hollywood star’s latest honour comes shortly after the release of her biopic Priscilla, directed by Sofia Coppola, which was met with some backlash as it confronted some of the more uncomfortable aspects of her and Elvis’ relationship.
Priscilla first met Elvis when she was just 14, and he was 24, while on an army base in Germany during the musicians’ military service and after a lengthy relationship in the growing public eye they tied the knot in 1967.
