Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kanda has taken to Instagram to reveal she’s “gutted” after she was eliminated from Strictly this week.

Posting an image to her 35,000 followers of herself and partner Gorka Marquez jiving to Kids in America dressed as characters from 90’s movie Clueless, Nikita wrote: “What a whirlwind. Processing the end of my time on strictly. It’s so hard to put into words. I’ve had the most magical time.

“I want to say thank you for all the support and messages. It’s been a super fun but emotional rollercoaster. I’m so gutted to be out, I feel like my journey ended early but I’ve made friends and memories for life. I love every single one of the strictly fam. Will miss hanging out every week” she continued.

She then went on to say: “It was a dream come true to be part of an iconic show that I’ve grown up watching especially as a British Asian it’s so important to me to represent.

“Dancing is so out of my comfort zone and I know I gave it my all especially as I’ve never danced in my life. I tried my absolute hardest and that’s all we can ever do.”

During the lengthy post she also revealed that she competed in Saturday’s show with an injured foot because she didn’t want to give in.

She also paid tribute to her dance partner Gorka, saying: “I honestly don’t know what I would have done without you. You were the best dance partner and friend I could have asked for, now forever part of my family.

“The most real and genuine person I’ve met. You’ve taught me so much not just in dance but in life too. I appreciate you more than you know and all the laughs were just incredible.”

Nikita, 28, also paid tribute to the staff who work on the show, from the hair and makeup department to the runners, expressing how grateful she was to have worked with them all.

Amongst the first to comment was Nikita’s dance partner Gorka, 33, who wrote: “Partner!!!! [crying emoji] I am so proud of you and grateful to get to dance with you! Thank you for all the memories, laughs that we share! I’ll remember forever.” (sic)

Other Strictly pros took time to comment with Karen Hauer writing: “Mamasita … so proud of you” and Luba Mushtuk said: “You did amazing”.
