Jackie Kennedy Once Publicly Called Out This Alleged JFK Mistress for ‘Sleeping With My Husband’
John F. Kennedy‘s many alleged mistresses are hard to keep up with, even 60 years after his death. From A-list stars to White House staff, the president had a prolific reputation as a womanizer and was allegedly ruthlessly unfaithful to his wife, Jackie Kennedy.
While Jackie rarely addressed her husband’s alleged infidelities — apart from to keep up their appearance as a picture-perfect couple — there was one affair that she reportedly failed to stay silent about.
Priscilla Wear was a White House staff member who worked under JFK’s secretary, Evelyn Lincoln during his presidency. She also worked alongside Jill Cowan, another secretary reported to have had an affair with the President, according to People. The New York Post claims Cowan and Wear were given the security nicknames “Fiddle and Faddle” and were better known for their close relationship with JFK than their professional reputation.
An Atlantic article by Caitlin Flanagan alleges that the women often accompanied JFK on “business trips” including to Berlin, Rome, Ireland, Costa Rica, Mexico and Nassau. “Neither did much work,” a former Secret Service agent told author Ronald Kessler, per the New York Post. And Flanagan’s Atlantic article alleges that both of the women frequently left work frequently to skinny-dip in the pool with JFK and would go back to their stations with wet hair.
Jackie was not in the dark about the affair and supposedly brought it up in an interview with a Paris-Match reporter. While touring the White House with the reporter, Jackie reportedly passed by Wear’s desk and remarked in French, “This is the girl who supposedly is sleeping with my husband.” Wear has never spoken publicly about the alleged affair.
