Laurence Fox claims police 'confiscated' his kids' devices in arrest

Laurence Fox has spoken out about his arrest, claiming police took the electronic devices of his young children.

The former actor was sacked from GB News yesterday following a string of remarks about Ava Evans, a political correspondent known as Ava Santina, on X, formerly Twitter, including asking, ‘Who would want to shag that?’

Fox, 45, was arrested on the same day, with Metropolitan Police confirming to Metro.co.uk: ‘On Wednesday 4, October officers arrested a 45-year-old man on suspicion of conspiring to commit criminal damage to ULEZ cameras and encouraging or assisting offences to be committed.

‘He was arrested in Stockwell and has been taken to a South London police station where he remains in custody.’

Following his release, Fox took to social media with a shocking message.

‘I have just finished recording my thoughts on the last few days’, he began. ‘I will put them out later.’

He continued: ‘I am so upset about my kids phones and iPads being confiscated by the stasi. (even though a screen break is no bad thing!)’

For context, The Ministry for State Security, (aka the Stasi, an abbreviation of Staatssicherheit) was the state security service of East Germany from 1950 to 1990.

‘To take away the property of innocent children to antagonise their father, seems to me beyond malicious and beyond contemptible,’ Fox slammed.

‘We are facing a pure cold tyranny, which is getting hotter by the day. Schemes designed to immiserate the poorest and most vulnerable in society, whilst the rich can offset the entire price of an electric wonder wagon against their corporation tax are grossly unfair.’

Fox added: ‘The Britain I remembered lionised Robin Hood. Now we celebrate those who steal from the poor to give to the rich.’

He concluded: ‘I will never stop fighting. And I’m not scared of your jail cells. As long as I have a good book.’

Fox has two children, Winston, nine, and Eugene, six, from his marriage to Doctor Who actress Billie Piper.

The Reclaim Party head’s comments come after he said he found out about his sacking by GB News while he was in custody.

Fox, who was arrested in Stockwell and taken to a south London police station on Wednesday, has since been released and bailed pending further inquiries.

He told Sky News: ‘I found out about the GB News sacking, in there (the police station).

‘They went, “By the way, you’ve been sacked and there’s loads of paparazzi out there.” And I was like, “Phew”.’

Asked about his arrest, Fox added: ‘They’ve let me go. It’s Sadiq Khan’s “Make a big thing out of Loz.”

‘If Sadiq Khan thinks he can scare me, I’ve been intimidated by his coppers before.’

The actor-turned-politician was initially suspended by GB News amid an internal investigation and a probe by Ofcom.

More than 8,000 complaints were received over on-air comments about the female journalist.

He faced a disciplinary hearing with the channel after making a series of personal remarks about the political correspondent on the Dan Wootton Tonight show.

The channel confirmed it had ‘ended its employment relationship’ with Fox, who previously posted an ‘apology’ video.

After saying he was angered by Evans’ comments on a BBC debate around male suicide, he alleged she had a ‘dislike of men in general’, but apologised for ‘demeaning her’.
