Lionesses star dating childhood sweetheart who is also a football star
The Lionesses’ ace player Alex Greenwood has major fan support, including from her long-term partner who happens to be an ex-Premier League player too.
Alex has been one of the champion players of the Women’s World Cup, earning her 80th cap in the 2-1 quarter-final win over Colombia.

The 29-year-old defender is at the top of her game for this competition, making more successful passes than any player in the tournament so far.
As the Lionesses take on hosts Australia, we’re sure partner Jack O’Connell will be cheering on from the stands as he has done for the past few weeks.
Jack, 29, is a former Sheffield United centre-back and has been with Alex since they were in sixth form together.
The athletic couple grew up together in Merseyside and met at their sixth-form college Savio Salesian in Bootle.
They keep things fairly low-key, posting the occasional snap on Instagram amid all their footballing wins, although Jack has now retired due to injury.
Jack was benched for nearly two years at Sheffield United due to two major surgeries after a knee and announced in July that he was retiring.
Alex however shows no signs of stopping with the Lionesses storming into the spotlight with their Euros victory and now World Cup success.
‘I’m obsessed with football,’ said the Manchester City player to The Guardian last year.
‘Often, at home, all Jack and I talk about is football, we watch it and analyse it all the time. People ask what I do to get away from the game but I don’t want to escape it.’
Fans certainly don’t want the Lioness escaping the game as the team pushes through at the Women’s World Cup.
Loved-up Jack told Sky Sports: ‘[I’m] really proud of her. I’ve been there from the very start. I used to go and watch Alex when she was 16. It’s unbelievable how far it’s grown now.
‘I’m her biggest critic as well. The standard that she sets herself, she has more to come.
‘I get goosebumps when I think about it but I think she’s one of the best centre-halves in the world and she still has gears to go through.’
