Maya Jama and Stormzy spark dating rumours with similar holidays

Maya Jama and Stormzy have jetted off on tropical holidays this week – and fans are convinced they’re together.

Speculation about the nature of their relationship has been brewing since the former couple, who split in 2019, were spotted enjoying a cosy catch-up at All Points East festival in London last Friday, where Stormzy, 30, was headlining.

The two stars were seen having good natter in the VIP section, where they sipped drinks and mingled with the likes of Idris Elba and Chunkz.

Since then, Maya, 29, has been posting stunning photos from her sunkissed getaway while Stormzy has suspiciously posted very similar vibes from his own destination.

In one video shared to her Instagram stories, Maya is seen sipping a cocktail with a thatched roof of bamboo reeds in the backdrop. Perhaps coincidentally, Stormzy also posted a TikTok of him lounging on a sofa with a very similar style of roof above his head. There was also a chair in front of him which appeared to be the same angle where Maya sat in her video.

They are also both staying in a very luxurious hotel with stone walls, lush greenery, crystal blue swimming pools and sunset views.

Fans are speculating whether they’ve actually jetted off together, with one tweeting: ‘Oh Maya and Stormzy definitely on this holiday together. How cute.’

Another joined in: ‘I feel like Stormzy & Maya are on holiday together. Please let this be true. They are my fav.’

Alongside a prayer-hand emoji, one other commented: ‘Stormzy and Maya are on holiday together the world is healing.’

One fan added: ‘Stormzy’s tiktok and Maya recent IG posts….. they’re on holiday together lmfaoooo.’

Adding fuel to the fire, Maya had earlier posted a photo of two glasses suggesting she may have company on the getaway.

Cheers to the weekend 🥂❤️

During her brief return to the UK last week after celebrating her 29th birthday in Ibiza, the former BBC Radio 1 presenter popped up backstage at All Points East where the photos of her and Stormzy were taken. It was the first time the former couple, who were together for four years, had been spotted hanging out together for some time.

A source told The Sun: ‘Maya and Stormzy may not be officially dating anymore, but they are still close and grew up together.

‘She is really proud of him and vice versa. They’ll always have a special bond.’

‘They spent time catching up and chatting, people were looking at them and giving them their space,’ they added.

Stormzy has always spoken publicly about his regret over the end of their relationship and is even believed to have written songs on his latest album, This Is What I Mean, about Maya including the single Firebabe.

The Vossi Bop rapper told Louis Theroux in a BBC documentary: ‘It was, like, “OK, you made a mistake and you lose someone you loved, someone you cared for, someone who is special to you.”

‘That’s probably the biggest loss a man can have, isn’t it? There were other things in terms of mistakes I’d made. I didn’t do what a man should do to fully appreciate, love and care for his woman.’

Vogue cover star Maya also told the magazine last month of their relationship: ‘None of us really knew the level of importance it held to a certain group of people, us being together.

‘We were both super ambitious. We were both from similar upbringings and we were both just little grafters that have made something good of ourselves. It was lovely when it was lovely, and then you move.’

In other heartwarming news, Maya found time to do good as she generously bought a minibus for a local basketball team in Bristol. After learning team Bristol Storm had only managed to raise £100 for the new vehicle via a fundraiser, Maya, who hails from Bristol, decided to support the under-16s team after hearing about their troubles from her younger brother, who is part of the squad.

Bristol Storm’s old bus had failed its MoT and the shiny new vehicle arrived last week thanks to Maya donating a whopping £56,000.

Discussing Maya’s incredible gesture when chatting to The Sun, the team’s coach, 44-year-old David Senart, said: ‘She’s a lovely person. When she said she wanted to buy us a new minibus, I cried.’

He added: ‘She saw the importance of what we’re doing and the impact on these kids’ lives.

Maya Jama’s rep declined to comment while Stormzy’s publicist was also contacted.
