Melissa Joan Hart had 'whirlwind romance' with another iconic 90s teen star
Melissa Joan Hart has revealed she once had a teenage fling with a fellow 90’s star.
Just 15 years old when she was cast in the sitcom Clarissa Explains It All, the actress went on to become one of the most famous faces of her time, later starring in Sabrina the Teenage Witch from 1996 until 2003.
While Melissa, now 47, married musician Mark Wilkerson back in 2003, she’s now shared she once had a brief romance with Boy Meets World star Will Friedle.
The massive success of Sabrina once saw Melissa make an appearance on the Boy Meets World episode Witches of Pennbrook in 1997, likely where she met Will, now also 47.
In a recent podcast interview, the pair divulged their teenage dates.
While appearing on Pod Meets World, which Will hosts alongside Danielle Fishel and Rider Strong, they reminisced about growing up together as child actors and their brief fling as teens.
‘I was with you for, like, your 14th birthday or 15th, remember we went to someplace where it (had) those big tanks you could drive or shoot the tennis balls at?’ he recalled.
‘We went out for that and we were, like, making googly eyes at each other. And by the end of night we were “dating”,’ he added.
Melissa then joked that they probably called each other ‘a few times on a landline’, which he confirmed.
‘It was a whirlwind romance,’ he laughed.
The pair then tried to recall more details about their short-lived romance, but couldn’t quite remember if they’d ever even kissed.
In the interview Melissa also revealed that she very nearly lost the role of a lifetime in Sabrina after posing for Maxim to promote a movie in 1999, which was initially believed to be in breach of her contract.
While she labelled what unfolded as the ‘worst day of her life’ after she also had a break-up and was fired from appearing in the Scream movie on the same day, after writing an apology letter the problem was ‘all gone’.
Sabrina The Teenage Witch is streaming on Prime Video.
