RM Sotheby's Unveils "The White Collection": 56 Rare White Porsches
RM Sotheby’s has unveiled “The White Collection,” a remarkable array of rare Porsche models, all adorned in factory-issued shades of white, as well as 500 lots of mint-condition Porsche memorabilia.
The auction, scheduled to begin on December 1, epitomizes over a decade of meticulous collecting by a single owner obsessed with perfection. In total, the collection comprises 63 motor vehicle lots, with 56 white Porsches leading the charge, supplemented by 2 Porsche tractors and several other automotive treasures.
To further accentuate the elegance of the collection, the auction is set to take place in a venue that mirrors a sanctuary dedicated to Porsche. RM Sotheby’s shared that the expansive, brightly-lit space with its high ceilings and reflective floors is meticulously curated, with each element engineered to amplify the allure of the showcased cars.
Gord Duff, the Global Head of Auctions at RM Sotheby’s shared “To truly comprehend this collection’s depth, one has to understand the secondary Porsche market. Paint-to-sample supercars and classic sports cars in original condition have seen their values skyrocket, a consistent pattern in our sales,” he added “These vehicles, which show high originality and remarkably low mileage, are among the most sought-after Porsche sports cars in the current market. With the global demand for Porsche and the unique chance to buy these cars, The White Collection promises to be another unparalleled event for RM Sotheby’s.”
Among the highlights of the auction is the 2015 Porsche 918 ‘Weissach’ Spyder, the collection’s crown jewel. This unique rendition of Porsche’s modern hypercar, with just 12 miles logged, is finished in a custom Grand Prix White shade with matching magnesium wheels, displaying over $96,000 of bespoke tailoring from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, including the coveted Weissach performance package — it’s estimated to fetch between $2,500,000 USD to $3,000,000 USD.
Other notable lots include a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring, a 1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8, a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Lightweight and a 1994 Porsche 911 Turbo S X85 Flat-Nose, each with its own unique history — these vehicles are estimated to command a premium price ranging from $900,000 USD to $2,500,000 USD.
As a reminder, the sale is set to commence on December 1, in the meantime, you can check out every vehicle included in The White Collection via its dedicated page on RM Sotheby’s official site.
