Stepney Workers Club's Amiel S-Strike Sneaker Encourages You To "Think on Your Feet"
London-based footwear label Stepney Workers Club has just unveiled its first-ever running silhouette: the Amiel S-Strike, and it takes inspiration from the golden era of 90s running shoe design.
Designed with a layered mix of traditional and technical sneaker materials, coupled with a lightweight multi-part composite sole unit as supportive padding, SWC is looking to present an ideal everyday sneaker.
As a whole, the new Amiel S-Strike is SWC’s take on the evergreen ’90s runner and has been fitted with suede or leather mix uppers alongside panels crafted from technical mesh. Additionally, the underfoot takes on a lightweight and cushioned sole unit that is built up with three parts; a low-density, reactive EVA midsole, a cleated runner “Island” outsole, and an S-Strike TPU heel support unit.
Meanwhile, the uppers are made with a breathable and lightweight technical mesh, plush tongue, and collar padding to provide enhanced comfort and support, while the high abrasion-resistant laces are used for performance and durability. A cushioned low-density “cupped” sports-foam footbed rounds off the design, which is used to provide more comfort when on the move.
Available in four colorways of grey, black/grey, “Sand,” and white, the presentation of the new sneakers have also come with SWC’s all-new “Think On Your Feet” campaign, taking inspiration from the concept of “inner-directed running” as delivered via Valerie Andrews’ 1978 book, The Psychic Power of Running. The campaign pairs this inspiration with the adoption of running shoe silhouettes as a staple in the average person’s everyday footwear rotation.
