A furious bride-to-be has slammed her friends as ‘snakes’ for not wanting to pay £1200 to come to her wedding.
The woman, called Susan, was set to marry her long-term boyfriend but was forced to cancel last minute, due to lack of funds.
The bride-to-be had pictured a lavish wedding but it all came crashing down because she didn’t get enough cash gifts from her friends and family.
She began Facebook post, which was later shared to Mumsnet, by explaining that she was apologising for cancelling her wedding at such short norice.
‘How did this all come crashing down? Well I invite you all on Facebook – players, bystanders and side characters of the people in my life – to take a seat and listen,’ she writes.

‘You’re all involved somehow, somehow everyone is wrapped into this mess. Even if you weren’t invited to my wedding, I don’t care.’
She explained thing were like a ‘fairytale’ at first.
She met the love of her life at the age of 14, when they worked on her family’s farm, and with ‘each warm summer spent in the fields’ their love grew.
When they turned 18, he put a ring on her finger and at 20 they had their first child.
A few years later they began planning their perfect wedding, and saved up $15,000 (£13,500) for the event.
But for their dream day they would need to spend $60,000 (£46,700), and the bride was upset her pals wouldn’t foot the bill.
Taking to Mumsnet, users were shocked at the speech, some questioning if it were true
‘We’d sacrificed so much and only asked each guest for around $1500 (£1200). We talked to a few people who even promised us more to make our dream come true.
‘My maid of honour pledged $5000 along with her planning services. We tearfully thanked and accepted. My ex’s family offered to contribute $3000. We made it clear, if you couldn’t contribute, you weren’t invited to our exclusive wedding. It’s a once in a lifetime party.’
But when only eight guests were willing to pay for the honour of celebrating, Susan was left ‘livid’.
‘How was this supposed to happen without a little help from our friends? To make matters worse my ex’s family took back their offer. Suddenly more people backed out, INCLUDING THE C*** MADE OF HONOUR. MY BEST FRIEND SINCE CHILDHOOD. MY SECOND FAMILY [sic].’
They added that they then decided to put up a GoFundMe – but only got $250 (£196) in donations.
Her fiance offered to then elope to Vegas and have a ‘cheap, raggedy’ ceremony.
She added: ‘I just wanted to be a Kardashian for a day and then live my life like normal.’
Her partner then started gossiping with her friends, before staying out late and -she suspects – cheating on her.
So instead of getting married she decided to go backpacking across South America.
‘I need to get away from this awful society. How hard would it have been to f***ing donate friends? Do I matter to you? Friendly reminder, don’t think you own me. I am cutting all of you snakes off. I am living my life alone now.’
Taking to Mumsnet, users were shocked at the speech.
‘Whilst an amusing tale, I can’t help feeling it’s a work of fiction,’ said one.
‘Can’t actually imagine that is true. Funny though!’ added a third.
‘OMG, I want to know what happened when the now ex started talking to the friend,’ said another.
