The sex industry isn't for everyone, but for those working in it will know just how difficult it can be. It comes with a lot of responsibility, plus it's not always easy to share with family and friends.
A lot of women working in sex find it empowering and one of those females is Melissa Mayr. She's the brand manager at Kaufmich, a leading social network for sex workers, so it's safe to say, she's seen a lot.
But while she's part of a dominating brand in the adult space, it's not always so sweet. Although Melissa finds her role empowering, it can be difficult at times.

Now speaking exclusively to Daily Star, the brand manager spilled the beans on her job.
She said: "I find my position incredibly empowering. I speak with fascinating people all day every day, and helping sex workers become more understood, while ensuring they're safe, is a job I take very seriously.
"It's not your typical 9-5, but I love it. I'm not saying this industry is without fault. As with any other sector, it comes with its downsides and risks."
Melissa claimed the industry can be safe, fulfilling and empowering for sex workers, but it's important they receive the support to ensure that remains the case.
She added: "At Kaufmich, we strive to never fall short on that promise. As such, we look to consistently evaluate risks and introduce proactive measures that will help protect our users, no matter where they are in the world.
"Kaufmich is a community and if I were to give new escorts one piece of advice, it would be to find a community of like-minded people. This support is a game changer."

Melissa also fears we live in a society which often shuns sex work, even though it can be empowering. She always encourages users to embrace "all kinds of kinks and fetishes".
She continued: "Being able to share your thoughts, worries, and experiences on a shared platform will allow you to avoid customers with red flags, learn, expand your business, and protect your mental health.
"Whether you're just starting out and simply want to chat with people in the same position who won't judge, or you enjoy a niche kink that you worry is 'weird' or 'strange', you can rest assured there's a place for you."
Meanwhile Jay Stark, a non-binary escort from the platform, advises cam models starting out to do a number of safety checks beforehand.
They said: "When I started, I wasn't sure what to look out for. I've also learnt trust my instincts; the way someone is writing or speaking to you helps you get a sense of what they're like.
"I think about how my body and mind is reacting to the person. Am I excited to meet them? Am I seeing some red or beige flags? Typically, red flags include asking for sex without a condom or disrespecting a boundary I've clearly set.
"I would also recommend to all escorts that they take a deposit. This will help stop last-minute cancellations. Plus, you should always share the time, date, and duration of your date with a friend."
