Jackie Kado believes the Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp opens up dual opportunities for young people

Jackie Kado, Executive Director of the Network of African Science Academies and member of BRISEC, believes the Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp opens up dual opportunities for young people:“One, you’re able to leapfrog and get technology that is contextually relevant. Two, it opens your mind to think scientifically,to do more beyond just what you’re given. So you’re no longer a consumer of the technology but actually a producer and a user.”

She emphasized the value of cultural immersion in education: “Being able to use existing culture, and even the panda and the food, which are totally different from what African students are used to. It means the technology becomes more personalized.”
