Jeremy Clarkson says something is missing as he opens up on home in Cotswolds

TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson has shared his biggest pet peeve about his current residence after moving out of London for a quiet life in the country.

He says he can’t get his hands on a decent curry because he lives in the country.

The Clarkson’s Farm host’s home is in the Cotswolds, near superstars David Beckham and Kate Moss.

He says the place is packed with quaint pubs, private clubs and hotel hangouts for the rich and famous – but all he craves is a good Indian meal.

Jezza, 63, said: “I don’t need a ‘taste of the Cotswolds’. I live here. While we’re good for shepherd’s pie and tasty burgers, there comes a time in the working week when a decent chicken madras would really hit the spot.’’

The ex-Top Gear host said there are a dozen great pubs on his doorstep “where I can bang my head on the beams”.

But he claimed: “One thing is missing. Diversity. I’m not saying there should be a migration centre here for displaced Syrians or a fancy new mosque but I wouldn’t say no to a Chinese restaurant. Or a Japanese sushi joint.

“Anything that could give me a break from the traditional English fare you get in the pubs.”

He added: “In any town or city people have a massive choice when it comes to eating out.

“You can eat Iranian or Italian or Brazilian.

“And after you’ve tried them all, you can start on the restaurants that do fusion food – Peruvian cooking with a Mongolian twist. Guinea pig in yak’s milk.”
