TV presenter Davina McCall signs up for epic Doctor Who Christmas special
TV presenter Davina McCall is reportedly set to guest star in this year’s Doctor Who Christmas special – before being killed off in style.
The 52-year-old presenter revealed she has landed a surprise cameo appearance in the festive edition of the BBC One sci-fi show, which will see Ncuti Gatwa make his exciting debut as the 14th Time Lord.
The TV series will also welcome the doctor’s new assistant Ruby Sunday (played by Millie Gibson) who is on the look for her birth family.

According to The Sun, the brunette beauty will play herself as the host of the genealogy show which is similar to her ITV series Long Lost Family.
But in a hilarious twist, the mum-of-three will be crushed to death by a falling Christmas tree in a dramatic fashion.
Viewers will no doubt be left in stitches at the hilarious call back, after showrunner Russell T Davies featured killer ferns in many his festive specials including The Christmas Invasion and The Runaway Bride.
A source told the publication: “The Christmas special is a huge deal for the BBC – this year especially so, as it’s Ncuti and Millie’s first met.
“The Davina storyline is one element of the big festive episode on the table,” they teased.
It comes after script editor Scott Hancock revealed that a “guest star from 2005” who would return for the BBC special.
This soon sparked speculation, which sparked speculation online that Simon Pegg would reprise his role as The Editor from the episode The Long Game.
The long-running programme will be returning to is previous festive slot for the first time since 2017 where the Sex Education star will make his highly anticipated debut.
Doctor Who will celebrate its 60th Anniversary in November with a trio of specials which will also see the return of David Tennant and his former companion Catherine Tate.
Fans can expect to see Ncuti and Millie’s first full series – which is comprised of eight episodes – hit the airwaves in Spring 2024.
Russell has returned as the Doctor Who showrunner after stepping down in 2009 after successfully rebooting the series.
In October, Jodie Whittaker stepped down from her role as The Doctor, replaced by returning star David for the upcoming anniversary episodes, who originally starred as the tenth incarnation.
Ncuti has already confirmed he will be returning for a second series as the Doctor in an interview with Rolling Stone UK, after filming wrapped on series 14 in July.

It was previously announced that RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jinkx Monsoon and Mindhunter star Jonathan Groff will be joining the cast.
