Zara McDermott snubbed as Im A Celeb Sam Thompson flies Pete Wicks to Australia
I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Sam Thompson brutally overlooked his girlfriend Zara McDermott when it came to selecting friends and family to join him in Australia.
According to Zara, the decision had been made without her knowledge that his best friend, TOWIE star Pete Wicks, would be on the sidelines ready to greet him when he finally exits the jungle – and not her. This left a bad taste in the former Love Island star's mouth.
At the time of Sam's choosing, the former X Factor beauty had been left dumbfounded. She had been busy rehearsing for Strictly and was none-the-wiser that Pete had pipped her to the post in heading off to meet Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.

Prior to heading down under, Zara and Sam had both separately chatted to X Factor songstress Fleur East on Hits Radio about the selection process. They revealed that Sam's beautiful other-half had been overlooked.
Fleur said: "When we spoke to Sam we were like Zara is now coming into the jungle, right, to support you." The clip then flips to Sam's interview, and sees him chirp back bluntly: "Erm no, Pete's already coming," much to the radio host's surprise.
With Zara now in the interview chair, she explained the situation to Fleur, adding: "Do you know what, when I left Strictly, I was like shall I pack my case? Like how is this going to work?" Stopping the songstress in her tracks with her thoughts running wild, Sam replied: "Oh no, Pete's going in."
For those who follow Sam and Pete on social media or their podcast Staying Relevant, it will come as no surprise as they would completely understand the relationship, and that Zara is often hilariously left on the sidelines. But for anyone who is newly invested in the trio it could be deemed as a flabbergasting move by the Made In Chelsea star.
Sam entered the camp at the weekend and has been astounding the Great British public with his wit, charm, and odd comforting techniques ever since arriving down under. His co-camper Jamie Lynn Spears had been particularly struggling and so the reality star was on-hand to offer up some supportive words.
Jamie had been missing her children and was noticeably upset throughout the day, not really understanding what she was going through but, trying to be supportive, Sam explained he felt the same about his cats at home. Twitter blew up with comments as fans rolled around laughing.
One tweet read: "Nah. Not Sam Thompson comparing his cats to Jamie's kids LOL," a second chimed: "Haha I'm done Sam actually said to Jamie about his cats at home." A third person added a string of emojis and penned: "Comment of the series so far goes to Sam Thompson about his cats haha."
