Are Bobby Beale and Anna Knight related in EastEnders?
Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) has been getting closer to EastEnders newcomer Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) recently, with a hint of romance blossoming between the pair as they shared a kiss.
However matters have been complicated by Peter Beale (Thomas Law)’s return to Walford upon learning Anna and her sister Gina (Francesca Henry) are his half-sisters – from mum Cindy (Michelle Collins)’ relationship with George Knight (Colin Salmon).
With Cindy making a shock return to the Square after 25 years spent in witness protection – during which time everybody thought she was dead – the family links are set to be exposed.
And it’s set to challenge Bobby even further – as having confessed to Anna that he killed his sister Lucy, he’s left to wonder how she will react when she learns Lucy was also her sister.
We can’t keep up with all the siblings – but in the thick of all of this, are Bobby and Anna actually related too?
Are Bobby and Anna related in EastEnders?
While they might share some close family ties, Bobby Beale and Anna Knight are not actually related.
Bobby Beale is the son of Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) and Laura Beale (Hannah Waterman), who died in 2004 after tripping on Bobby’s toys and falling down the stairs.
Anna Knight is the daughter of George Knight and Cindy Beale, who was raised by her dad after Cindy – living under witness protection as Rose Knight – abandoned them in 2014.
In other words, they have completely different parents – but here’s where the family tree gets complicated.
Bobby is the half-brother of Peter and Lucy Beale and adoptive brother of Steven Beale, Cindy’s son from her affair with former Queen Vic barman Simon Wicks (Nick Berry) – who was adopted by Ian and who died in 2017.
Peter Beale, as the son of Ian Beale and Cindy Beale, is the half-brother of Gina and Anna Knight, as they share the same mother.
So Anna is Bobby’s half-brother’s half-sister. If that makes sense.
Cindy is mother to six children in total – Steven, Peter, Lucy, Gina, Anna and daughter Cindy Jr with former boyfriend Nick Holland.
Cindy Jr, whom Cindy was alleged to have died giving birth to in prison in 1998, was a regular fixture in the Square until 2015.
Viewers found out on Tuesday night as the story unfolded just why Cindy left her daughters and George in 2014 while the family was living in Spain.
She left them after secretly returning to Walford upon learning of Lucy’s death – only to be tracked down by police handler Mary who warned her that by breaking cover she had not only put her own life at risk but the lives of the Knights too.
Subsequently she left George, Anna and Gina, seemingly in a bid to keep them from harm.
EastEnders continues on BBC One on Wednesday night at 7.30pm.
