Sally Nugent returned to host BBC Breakfast on Tuesday (November 21) after being missing from the show earlier this week.

The 52-year-old presenter normally hosts with Jon Kay but she didn't appear on the red sofa on Monday. BBC presenter Sarah Campbell stepped in to replace her, meaning she hosted the show with Jon.

It might have left some fans wondering what had happened to her. But things returned to normal on Tuesday as Sally was back with Jon to share the latest stories of the day, Gaza conflict and the government's Autumn Statement.

It's not the first time Sally has been forced to withdraw from the show recently. Last month, she took time away from the show, with Sarah brought in to host the show while Sally was absent.

Mum-of-one Sally had appeared hoarse while reading the headlines and Lemsip was spotted next to her in the studio. And viewers were clearly worried about the broadcaster as they urged her to get some rest so she could recover.

"You're poorly this morning I guess? You were so full of cold yesterday get well soon you brighten up my day," said one on X.

It's not been an easy year for Sally as she recently split from her husband Gavin Hawthorne after 13 years of marriage. The pair share their teenage son.

Friends of the former couple alleged that Sally and Gavin were "moving in different directions". A source told MailOnline: "They've both been very guarded about the reasons behind their growing apart but it's been plain for a while that they had been and now it's obvious that they haven't been able to resolve that despite clearly trying for some time."

Sally became a full-time host on BBC Breakfast in September 2021 after Louise Minchin stepped down. She used to host with Dan Walker before he left the programme to join Channel 5.
