Huge Reading and Leeds 23 performer pulls out of festival just hours before it starts | The Sun

READING and Leeds headliner Trippie Redd has pulled out of his performance at the festival.

The rapper, 24, was due to take to the iconic stage over the bank holiday weekend.


A statement on his Twitter account said: "I’m so sorry to announce that I can’t perform this weekend. I was really looking forward to coming to Reading & Leeds…

"But due to illness I have to cancel my visit to the UK. I hope to see you soon!"

Reading and Leeds also tweeted: "Unfortunately we have to announce that Trippie Redd is having to cancel his performances at both Reading and Leeds due to illness.

"We wish @trippieredd a speedy recovery."

Fans shared their disappointment beneath the post and one said: "The actual only reason I was slightly tempted to go."

Another said: "Announce Travis Scott."

The American star – real name Michael Lamar White II – was due to perform on the main stage at Reading tonight and Leeds tomorrow (Saturday) night.

He is known for his singles Dark Knight Dummo, Taking a Walk, and Topanga.

Reading festival goers will be hearing from huge names performing this year such as Sam Fender and Billie Eilish.

Foals and The Killers are also due to headline, with The 1975 announced earlier this year as Lewis Capaldi's replacement.

The Someone You Loved singer had been scheduled to play Reading on Saturday 26 August and Leeds on Sunday 27 August.

However Lewis, 26, announced after Glastonbury that he was pulling out of his live performances for the “foreseeable future” to focus on his mental and physical health.
