ITV Coronation Street fans floored after realising where they recognise returning character Big Garth from | The Sun
CORONATION Street fans were left stunned to realise they had seen the actor who plays Big Garth on TV before.
The character returned to the show having appeared briefly before as part of Bernie Winter's current story.
Actor Victor McGuire portrays the dodgy dealer who is helping Bernie to shift some stolen computers she acquired from the dead Shelley.
Shelley confessed to unlawfully purchasing them with an employer's credit card when she knew she was dying as there wasn't anything the police could do about it.
However, she handed them over to Bernie as she passed before she had a chance to sell then on and make some money.
Having recruited her old pal Big Garth to help her, Bernie soon landed herself in hot water with the police when they accused her of being up to no good.

But in amongst all the chaos of the story, fans were left stunned to realise that Big Garth star Victor had actually been on screens before in a wildly popular series.
Back in the 1980s, Victor played the role of Jack in the TV series, Bread.
Set in Liverpool about a working class family, it was the actor's first brush with fame before his current Coronation Street resurgence.
Picking up on the connection, one fan told how they were left feeling 'old' as they wrote online about Victor's acting past.

Taking to X – formerly Twitter – they said: “Realising Bernie's mate Garth was Jack in Bread…..this makes me feel about 100 #Corrie.”
Another added: “It’s Victor McGuire from Bread. Used to love that show.”
A third closely followed with: "That tubby bloke with Bernie used to be in Bread many years ago!!”
Bread and Coronation Street are not the only roles that Victor has been fortunate enough to have.
He also enjoyed playing the parts of one of the thieves in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels as well as Deputy Chief Constable Nadin in Mike Leigh's Peterloo.
