ITV Im A Celebs Grace Dent shares grim reality of camp as she spills behind-the-scenes details
Masterchef star Grace Dent, who recently left I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! due to 'medical reasons', has spilled the beans on what life is really like in the jungle camp.
The 50 year old telly chef had to exit the ITV show earlier this week after fans expressed worry over her appearance.
An ITV spokesperson announced her departure, saying: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."
Not long after, Grace was spotted at Brisbane Airport, ready to fly back to the UK. She kept quiet as she was ushered through the VIP entrance and remained silent when she landed at Heathrow Airport, looking a bit glum.
But later, Grace decided to share her I'm A Celebrity experience on social media, not holding back any of the gory details about her time in the bug-filled Australian jungle camp.
In a long Instagram post, the food critic talked about her 'overwhelming sadness' at having to leave the show and revealed what it's really like to camp Down Under.
Grace shared some scary moments from her time on the show, like finding mealworms in her bra, a cockroach crawling into her ear, and sleeping next to 'hungry rats'. She wrote about how they lived outdoors in a rainy forest with no contact with the outside world.
She also said that this unique experience gave her a glimpse into the hardships some people face worldwide. Grace wrote: "For as long as I live, I shall never forget the cockroach that entered my ear canal and the sound of its little feet creeping closer down to my brain. It took us two goes to lure him out. Sat on the grass behind the 'Scarena' he finally washed up."
"The jungle showed me how quickly I could become blase about sleeping with hungry rats, noisy toads, moths and Huntsman spiders. It taught me that when you have to sleep close to the enemy the trick is to stay calm, have empathy and that screaming achieves nothing but wasted calories."
"The jungle showed me that I am physically stronger than I thought; I can carry a lot of logs and water up hill, build fire and eat hare innards at dawn for breakfast."
After all these terrifying camp experiences, Grace said she's now planning to "recover" and "make some serious plans for dinner". She joked: "Three courses, extra potatoes, definitely pudding. I think I deserve it."
As first reported by the Mirror, Grace finished her message with: "I love you all and miss my jungle crew. Miss Grace Dent xxx".
Fans expressed their worries about Grace's health during her time on the show, with one commenting on X, previously known as Twitter: "Really hope Grace gets well Was shocked at the vote She looked very ill and a bit spaced out Your in my prayers Get well soon."
Another fan wrote: "omg Grace looks very ill Hope she is OK" while another said: "The way Grace Dent looked visibly unwell and ppl voted her for the challenge don't sit right w me, I hope she's okay #ImACeleb"."
