Jane McDonald fights back tears as she learns emotional fortune

Jane Mcdonald Says 'I Hope She's As Happy As We Thought We'd Be' After Meeting Bride

Former Loose Women star Jane McDonald got emotional during her travels around Japan as she discovered her fortune.

Jane, 60, wanted to learn about her future which was written on a strip of paper called an O-mikuji.

“Is there anything bad in there?” Jane nervously asked before finding out her fortune as part of Jane McDonald: Lost In Japan on Channel 5.

“Yes,” the tour guide explained which appeared to worry Jane, but she assured the presenter any bad luck could be “blown away”.

After picking out her strip of paper, which was like a horoscope, she read it aloud to the cameras.

A tearful Jane said: “Wow. I feel as if I was strongly on the spring fields with my family, so comfortable.”

“Work hard and believe and you will be successful just like grass grows thanks to the rain heaven gives.”

An overcome Jane said the fortune was “so beautiful” to read and was pleased she had “good luck” rather than bad.

“Thank goodness for that,” she sighed. “I was a bit worried about that.”

Breaking Japanese tradition, Jane asked the tour guide if she could give her a hug rather than a bow.

Jane wrapped her arms around her and thanked her for teaching her more about Japanese culture.

Elsewhere on the programme, Jane tried her hand at origami – the Japanese art of paper folding – as well as sumo wrestling.

She also had the chance to get on the stage and sing, but it was at a karaoke bar with locals.
