Strictly viewers switch off minutes into show as they issue same complaint

Strictly: Judges and professionals perform in series opener

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left unimpressed on Saturday night with many taking to Twitter to issue the same complaint.

Some viewers claimed to “switch off” within minutes because they were fed up with the audience’s “canned” laughter.

The launch episode, which was pre-recorded, saw the 15 celebrity contestants being paired with their professional dance partners.

Taking to social media to share their thoughts, @HazelMSmith3 wrote: “#Strictly First 3 people on and no clue who any of them are, so switched channels.” (sic)

Another fan echoed: “Why does it sound like they have canned laughter in the background #Strictly.”

@The_Axeman tweeted: “#Strictly #scd What the hell is going on with the rather fake-sounding laugh track on tonight’s Strictly?!? Seriously, this better not be the taste of things to come!” (sic)

“What’s wrong with the crowd noise on #strictly sounds like they are mixing in canned laughter,” @lushattic complained.

@EmmaHiggbot went on: “Oh man, the canned laughter.”

“I mean, I love #Strictly it’s lovely kind show and I love the dancing and all the work that goes into it all, but God there sure is a lot of filler… I think I’m going to go back to watching the #RugbyWorldCup in a second,” @CateMosse tweeted.

While Jody Cundy is the current outsider to win with odds of 50/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Bobby Brazier has been popular with punters ever since it was announced he’d be taking part in the next series of Strictly.

“Fans already can’t get enough of him and at this point, the Glitterball Trophy is very much his to take home.”
