Nikita Says It’s Nice To Be With A Dance Partner Who Wants To Learn

During an appearance on Morning Live, Nikita Kuzim and Layton Williams were asked how rehearsals are going for Strictly Come Dancing.

Layton, 29, replied: “It is going, it is happening, I feel like I have been fully Strictly-fied. It’s been a manic week, it’s been the best time.”

Nikita, 25, added: “I cannot wait to see you on Saturday night with the beautiful Samba, I just cannot wait to perform.”

When asked about being in his first all-male pairing, Nikita said: “It’s awesome, I love it.

“Honestly, I am really loving it, especially the energy Layton brings every single day.

“It’s the hunger which he brings every single day, it’s just so nice to have somebody who just wants to learn so much and wants to dance so much.

“Someone who just wants to have good energy between us – he’ll smash it.”

Last year, Nikita was paired up with Paralympian Ellie Taylor but the pair did not make it particularly far in the competition.

Following their exit, Nikita penned in light of his social media followers: “Didn’t want to write this so early, but here we go… Our Strictly journey came to an end. Earlier than we wanted, but boy I’ve loved every single moment with you.”

Honouring Ellie, he continued: “You’re the most beautiful, pure, sincere, genuine, loving human.

“I may have taught you dancing but you taught me so much about compassion, sincerity, love and so much about about life. Keep doing incredible things the way you do.”

The first Strictly Come Dancing 2023 live show airs this Saturday on BBC One and will once again be hosted by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly.

Nikita’s partner Layton has experience in the entertainment industry as he’s best known in the West End productions of Everyone’s Talking About Jamie and Billy Elliot.

He’s also starred in Thriller Live, New Adventures and Hairspray – so he’s accustomed to live performing. On top of this, he runs his very own performing arts company.

Layton said of Strictly Come Dancing: “Absolutely buzzing to confirm that I will be taking part in THE most iconic dance competition in the UK!

“It’s time to bring it to the Ballroom. So excited to learn new skills from the best. Bring on the sequins… ALL the sequins!”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on BBC One at 6.15pm on Saturday.
