This Morning viewers were left fuming at their screens as the show paid tribute to Holly Willoughby following her shock exit.
The TV star confirmed that she will not be returning to the famous blue sofa in an emotional message to fans. She decided to leave her job "for me and my family" after missing episodes of the programme after a man was charged with soliciting to commit murder over an alleged plot to kidnap the TV presenter.
And on Wednesday (October 11) This Morning paid tribute to TV favourite in the opening of the ITV show. But fans were not too impressed.

As the opening credits played on the screen, “END OF AN ERA” could be seen, followed by pictures of Holly, along with “GOODBYE HOLLY.” The two hosts Rochelle Humes and Craig Doyle then informed the viewers about Holly’s exit.
Rushing over to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan fumed: “This Morning has turned into This Mourning with this cringe-inducing segment. You’d think she dropped dead, never mind quit the show.” Someone else added: “She’s not dead. Christ.”
Echoing their thoughts, a third quipped: “We love and care about Holly so much we will spend 20 seconds talking about her like she's dead… Maybe she wasn't that popular.” Another viewer proclaimed: "That was the most insincere bye ever! They can’t even show clips from 14 years when there have been lots of highlights. Cringe!"
At the start of the programme, Craig and Rochelle wished Holly the best. Craig said: "Last night, Holly made what we know will have been a heartbreaking decision to leave This Morning after 14 years."
Rochelle added: "Holly loved her job here and was really looking forward to the future of the show. But recent events, especially in the past week, have been hard to deal with and she's quite rightly put in her family first."

Craig then said: "On behalf of everyone here in front and behind the camera, we just loved working with Holly and she made coming to work so much fun. We're all really, really sad and we're really going to miss her."
Smiling to the camera, Rochelle quipped: "Holly said she's incredibly proud of what she's achieved on this show and so are we. She will ever be one of us." Craig then concluded the heartfelt message with: "But as Holly Willoughby knows only too well, the show must go on."
