Donny Osmond addresses falling for brothers date and quietly seeing her
Donny Osmond reveals he once never wanted to sing Puppy Love
Donny Osmond has addressed falling in love with his brother’s date and secretly wooing her for three years. The legendary singer, who was the lead singer of his family group The Osmonds – has recalled how he ended up with his wife of 45 years, Debbie Osmond.
Speaking on the Just Trish podcast, he told host Trisha Paytas after she praised Debbie for keeping her composure when female fans throw themselves at him: “Tell you a funny story. She dated my brother first. My brother Jay.
“We went on a double date to an Elton John concert. I was dating a girl by the name of Tammy who I was madly in love with, and Jay took out Debbie, my wife.
“When Elton sat down and started singing [Your Song], I remember looking over at my brother’s date thinking: ‘I’m gonna marry that girl someday’.”
“Poor Tammy! Is she okay?” asked Trisha, to which Donny, 65, replied: “Yeah, sweet lady. I knew right away. She was 15 I was 16… she was 19 I was 20 [when we got married].

“We dated for three and a half years secretly. I didn’t want people to know.” While his family accepted the union when he eventually came clean, it would be unsurprising if it was one strike against Donny in the reported feuds between he and his siblings over the years.
The singing siblings, who found fame as child stars, thrilled fans by embarking on a tour of Europe in 2007 and into the following year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their careers.
However, Donny, who recently hit back at being branded a “has been” has left fans disappointed by saying in many recent chats that the group won’t be getting back together as “everyone’s retired”.
Back in 2012 Donny also addressed reunion plans. When asked on The One Show if The Osmonds would reform, he declared, “No, no” and added: “A lot of them can’t perform anymore. The 2008 tour that we did here – that was the final tour.

“We’re not like Cher, we don’t announce our final tour every year. That was the last one where everybody’s going to perform on stage.”
According to Radar Online, his brother Jimmy said in 2018: “We used to be in each other’s lives so much, but now everybody’s got their own families. We don’t get together anymore like we used to. We’re a normal family. We do have issues.”
The Osmond family were household names with their hits Love Me For A Reason and Crazy Horses. They then got into TV and Donny and his sister Marie Osmond had the most popular variety show of the 1970s with Donny & Marie.
