BBC Strictly fans gasp as Vernon Kay makes intimate remark about wife Tess Daly

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly was left red-faced after husband Vernon Kay made a cheeky comment about her during the latest show.

The semi-final kicked off on Saturday night (December 9), with final four Bobby Brazier, Layton Williams, Annabel Croft and Ellie Leach taking to the dancefloor with two routines to wow the judges. Following Bobby's opening dance, Vernon made a surprise appearance to read out the terms and conditions.

When he'd finished, host Claudia Winkleman mentioned the ultramarathon Vernon ran which raised over £6million for Children in Need. She said: "Thank you so much and from all of us watching and in the studio, a huge congratulations. You raised over £6.2 million.

"You were a legend. The 51-year-old continued: "It is now time to throw it back to your wife. I would like you to say her name but let me set the scene.

"You are snuggling, it's Sunday, maybe the puppy is on your lap and maybe you have had a delicious roast. Say her name with romance and love."

Vernon responded: "Well, obviously I would be wearing some pyjamas and have a Baileys, maybe a splash of cologne." He added: "Tess, over to you."

Tess dropped her head as she giggled: "So smooth, thank you, Vernon." Fans immediately raced to social media to share their thoughts on the exchange.

One wrote: "I can't lie, that bit between Tess and Vernon was kinda cute." A second added: "Tess holding it together there on #strictly after that handover from Vernon. What a professional!"

Another shared: "Love how Tess turned into a giggling schoolgirl with the handover from Vernon there…so cute!!"
