Strictly’s Gorka Marquez’s raunchy expectations are detailed by Gemma Atkinson

Gemma Atkinson shows her postpartum bump

Gemma Atkinson has revealed her fiance Gorka Marquez has racy expectations when he is home from Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress, 38, is engaged to the professional dancer, 33, who she met while competing on the show back in 2017.

Gemma has to spend weeks apart from her husband-to-be while he spends time in London to film the BBC show.

When Gorka returns to Manchester after weeks apart she joked he wants her to wear lingerie.

She quipped that despite Gorka wanting some romantic alone time, she looks forward to a decent night’s sleep and rest while he takes over caring for their two young children.

The couple have two children together – Mia is their eldest, who is four years old, and they recently welcomed a newborn son back in July, named Thiago.

Speaking on Thursday’s episode of her podcast The Overshare she said: “My fella works away a lot and I often say to my producer Matt, ‘Gorka’s back on Thursday, I’ve not seen him for three weeks, he’s going to want the lingerie and all this’.

“And all I want to do is get in bed and he will text me saying ‘Can’t wait for tonight’ and I’m like, ‘Oh God’ because for me I can’t wait for tonight because it means you can get up and I can get some sleep.’”

Gorka is currently partnered with Nikita Kanda, a BBC radio presenter, on this series of Strictly.

Last week the pair narrowly survived the dance-off as the pair were in the bottom two alongside Les Dennis and Nancy Xu, who were the first to go home.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Gorka previously admitted he contemplated leaving Strictly Come Dancing due to the long periods of time away from his family. He said he was missing out on time with his newborn son Thiago.

Within days of Gemma giving birth to their son Gorka was forced to travel to London from Manchester to start rehearsals for the 2023 series of Strictly.

On their reality show Gemma and Gorka: Life Behind the Lens, Gorka confessed: “It’s quite heartbreaking you know, to have to leave again a few days after Gemma gives birth and not be at home.”

“In my head, it makes me think I want to quit and just be at home for the next three months, but at the same time, I need to do my job and work.”

He continued by adding how he missed out on the early days with his daughter Mia as well because the Strictly rehearsals clashed with the birth of his first child.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One on Saturday at 6.20pm.
