Mum-of-bride slammed as inappropriate dress makes it look like double wedding

A mum caused confusion on her daughter's wedding day by wearing white.

Some ended up thinking there were two brides, which left a sour taste in people's mouths.

A picture from the big day was shared on Reddit's Wedding Shaming forum.

It shows both the bride and her mum in floor-length white gowns with billowing trains.

The parent has a huge headpiece clipped into her hair, as well as sparkles down the front of her frock.

Meanwhile, her daughter's dress features a plunging neckline and lace details.

The snap was captioned: "Mother of the bride in white! It literally looks like a double wedding to me."

And Redditors were equally unimpressed – with the post garnering hundreds of critical comments.

One responder wrote: "Omg! I didn't think her outfit could be more inappropriate, but I was wrong. I really hope this woman got red wine dumped on her."

Another said: "This is the worst one I've seen! MY blood would be boiling as the bride."

A third commented: "The bride's dress is stunning and I hate how much the mother of the bride distracts from it."

Another remarked: "I thought it was a flowering tree in the background! That's a huge piece of headwear."

And a fifth asked: "What in the peacock hell is on her head?"

Some did defend the mum though.

One Reddit user pointed out: "It’s her mother, do you really think the bride didn’t know what her mother was going to wear?"

And another agreed: "Maybe she allowed it. Some brides do."
