BBC confirms return of hit drama in the autumn after rave reviews | The Sun
THE BBC has confirmed the return of a hit drama after it received rave reviews from critics and fans.
The Newsreader is the hit Australian drama which stars the likes of Anna Torv and Sam Reid.
However the publicly funded corporation has revealed that series two is coming to BBC Two and iPlayer later this autumn.
The next instalment is set one year on from the first series where Helen Norville (Anna Torv) and Dale Jennings (Sam Reid) are now established as ‘The Golden Couple of News’.
Although on camera they are a glowing image of success and romance, behind the scenes it may not be the case.
Daniel Gillies plays the young CEO Charlie Tate who is impressed by the steady and reliable Dale.

He has a very clear vision for what he wants as the style of the ‘News at Six’ programme, however Helen wants an agenda full of hard-hitting and uncompromising interviews.
She is not afraid to tell him what she thinks as the pair are at loggerheads over the direction of the show.
However the new six-part series will see global stocks both soar and crash as Australia prepared to celebrate its Bicentennial year.
Helen and Dale are in turmoil as they grapple with who they really want to be in their lives as they question if they can stay together on that path.

William McInnes, Chum Ehelepola, Utopia's Michelle Lim Davidson and Marg Downey have all been confirmed to reprise their roles.
Home and Away's Philippa Northeast will also be joining the cast for a highly anticipated role in the second instalment.
