Coronation Streets Dom Everett star Darren Morfitts life off screen with actress wife
Coronation Street star Darren Morfitt recently joined the cobbles as Dom Everett, the estranged father of Eliza Woodrow with protective grandfather, Stu Carpenter, left wary over the newcomer.
In upcoming scenes, Stu Carpenter (played by Bill Fellows) could be set to uncover a dark secret about Dom, which would prove his point to Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo) that he is bad news.
However, as Eliza and Dom have been getting closer, Stu has been unsure of the impact he has been having on Eliza.
But, thankfully, away from the soap, 49 year old Darren has a far less drama filled life off screen.
Early life and career
Brought up in Hartlepool, a seaside and port town in County Durham, Darren was a studious teenager as he finished his A-Levels.
After completing his studies, he then packed his bags and headed to London where he studied acting at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating in 1997.
Soon after graduating from Mountview theatre school, Darren landed his first major TV role in Dream Team, which was a football drama series.
After starring 71 episodes he left in 1998. But it didn't take long for him to land another role in Grafters, where he played a character called Simon Purvis for 15 episodes.
Family life
Darren keeps his family life relatively private but what we do know is the well-renowned actor is actually married to actress Helen Latham, 47, who is best known for her role in Footballers' Wives as Lucy Milligan.
She has also appeared in The Bill and the Liverpool based soap Brookside.
The couple first met at Darren's theatre school Mountview in 1995 and by 2004, they tied the knot among close friends and family.
Unlike many celeb couples, neither Darren or Helen have social media, and keep their relationship very private.
