EastEnders actress Molly Rainford has revealed who she’s throwing her support behind on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing – and it’s not her co-star.

The 22-year-old appeared on the BBC One competition last year, and made it all the way to the final, going up against the likes of Helen Skelton, Fleur East and Hamza Yassin, who took home the trophy with Jowita Pryzstal.

However, despite missing out on the trophy, Molly has admitted she won something more special, the heart of Tyler West after the infamous Strictly curse hit the pair.

This year, Molly’s co-star Bobby Brazier is taking to the ballroom, with pro dancer Dianne Buswell.

However, that’s not who Molly is supporting, she’s revealed, despite their characters sharing a dramatic storyline on the soap.

Appearing on Wednesday’s Lorraine, Molly agreed her heart was ‘in another place’.

She told host Lorraine Kelly: ‘Obviously I’ve got to support castmates, but I’m team Gu forever now.’

Molly had been paired with Strictly pro Carlos Gu last year, who is now taking to the ballroom with Angela Scanlon.

She went on: ‘I kind of feel like his partner is my partner.’

Despite finding it ‘weird’ that Carlos will be dancing with someone else, Molly added: ‘I can’t wait to see what they do together.’

‘I couldn’t have had a better time, I always say I’d love to do it every year, and like you say, I got to meet my Tyler out of it, so I’m a very lucky girl.’

This comes after Freddie Slater actor Bobby shot his shot with Molly, during an interview with Tyler.

During Monday’s Lorraine, Tyler caught up with the cast of 2023 and grilled Bobby – who is the son of Jeff Brazier and the late Jade Goody – for kissing the character of his ‘real life girlfriend.’

Asking whether the youngster is open to finding love on the dance show, Tyler said: What’s your type?’

Taking little time to think about his response, Bobby simply replied: ‘Anna,’ and the camera quickly panned to Molly’s character in the BBC soap.

Tyler, who was clearly not impressed responded: ‘I mean….’ while Bobby playfully grabbed his shoulder.

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 6.15pm on BBC One, while Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
