ITV Im A Celebrity camp under threat as campmates told to be vigilant
First look at Jungle Pizzaria on tonight’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! campmates Sam Thompson and Nick Pickard have fallen victim to the elements of the jungle after a downpour of rain brought out blood-sucking leeches.
Whilst having to deal with broken sleep, not eating and the arrival of torrential rain, the campmates have had to deal with the insects which come along with the weather.
Their camp was swarmed with leeches, as a source told The Sun: “Sam had a leech attach itself to his foot and Nick had one on his hand – the rain has brought them all out.
“Production has told the celebs to take extra care and be vigilant. Whilst leeches fall off naturally once they’ve drunk their fill, if the celebs are feeling weak, tired and hungry anyway it’s far from ideal.”
“There’s also the risk that the leeches’ entry site can become infected so it’s a big issue.”

The leeches’ arrival comes after several snakes had to be removed by experts as the weather had led more creatures into the camp as usual.
I’m A Celebrity health and safety officer Jeremy Douglas said: “We have had a lot of snakes on the site this year, possibly because it has been so humid.
“We have had pythons, and non-venomous and venomous species. You get small-eyed snakes and brown tree snakes predominantly.”
Executive producer Laura Woolf added: “We’ve had 15 snake sightings across the site and then we’ve had to identify some venomous ones in camp.

“It gets worse when the celebs come in because they leave food everywhere. It’s like they don’t realise they’re living in a jungle!”
The camp has also had to deal with rats getting into their rubbish bags which were left out overnight and left former UKIP leader Nigel Fargae less than impressed.
In the Bush Telegraph, Nigel said: “It all got a bit slack, it all got a bit slovenly, leading to an error which was a food bag being left out overnight, which clearly had been attacked by a vermin of some kind.”
Back at camp, he added: “That wasn’t very clever. Everything else was done apart from that. But it’s our own bloody fault… We just must not ever make that mistake about the rubbish again, that was really bad.”
Fred Sirieix replied: “I think everyone was knackered yesterday and then all the rules went out of the window. It was just the emotions were heightened.”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
