Josie Gibson admits she was ‘really sad’ and ‘not herself’ in I’m A Celeb jungle

I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Josie Gibson has admitted she was 'really sad' and 'not herself' during her time in the Australian jungle.

The 38 year old This Morning star came in fourth place on the 2023 series of I'm A Celeb, and whilst she had a great time, she reflected that missing her five year old son Reggie took its toll on her.

On Monday, 11 December, Josie appeared on This Morning via video link, where she spoke to Dermot O'Leary and Christine Lampard about her experience in the jungle.

The star looked back to her usual glamorous self as she sported a full face of makeup and wore her blonde hair straightened whilst showing off her slimmed-down frame in black halterneck top.

Josie reflected fondly on her time on I'm A Celeb, although she admitted that it was the hardest thing she had ever done.

This was mostly due to not being in contact with her son, Reggie, for more than 23 days.

Dermot and Christine asked her how she felt when she was surprised in camp by her best pal Mia, toward the end of the show.

She said of seeing Mia: "You know when you get those people in your life and they connect a bit of their energy into you and you feel recharged.

"That was what it was like [seeing Mia]. She just connected a bit of her energy into me and I felt like me again.

"I felt recharged and I was back in there and I felt like I could do it, because I did have a real big wobble the last two days."

She continued: "I was pining for Reg, I was missing him so much.

"You could see I was really sad and I wasn't myself, so she [Mia] charged me up and I was ready to go and get them again."

After Josie left the show just before the final, she was finally reunited with little Reggie, as well as her other campmates who were all waiting to give her a top-tier welcome.

She was all smiles as she arrived at The JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort and Spa shortly after her elimination, with her blonde hair in fuss-free plaits.

The mum-of-one scooped Reggie into her arms and didn't put him down as they both mingled with fellow celebrities in the reception area of the prestigious hotel. It marked the first time Josie had seen her young son after spending three weeks in the jungle.

Josie had made no secret of how much she was missing Reggie while in the jungle and had confessed to feeling "guilty" for leaving him for such a long period of time.
