Lidls new designer-inspired £5 scents have been likened to Chloé and Dior perfumes
When it comes to luxury perfumes, there are a few luxury brands that never miss on delivering iconic, signature scents that people go back to again and again.
However, with luxury fragrances comes luxury price tags, and with some of our favourites costing us upwards of £100, they’re definitely what we would consider a splurge, rather than a necessity.
Never ones to be deterred by a designer price tag though, there are some amazing affordable alternatives out there that are said to smell just like the high-end scents, andLidl’s latest perfume rangehas been likened to top fragrances from Chloé, Lancôme and Dior.
The newperfume rangeis available exclusively in Lidl stores in the famed middle aisles, and the three new fragrances will set you back just £5.25 each – considerably less than the lofty price tag of the designer perfumes they smell like.
The Cien Women Eau De Parfum, £5.25 here, has three different fragrances to choose from, Chatou, Femelle and Lovely, with each one bearing a striking resemblance to a much-loved luxury scent.
When it comes to fragrances, few are quite as iconic as Dior’s, with its perfumes frequently racking up plenty of compliments, which is why we were thrilled to discover Lidl’s Lovely perfume is said to smell just like Dior J'adore Eau De Parfum Spray, £77.60 here, with its notes of jasmine, rose and ylang-ylang all reflected in the bargain alternative.
Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle, will set you back £69 here for a 50ml bottle, whilst Lidl’s 75ml botte of the Femelle will only cost you £5.25.
Although the budget-friendly version doesn’t smell absolutely identical, its smell does closely resemble the notes of patchouli, iris and vanilla that you expect from the luxury Lancôme one.
You can also get a similar scent with La Librairie Pétale Lush eau de parfum, £6 here, which has similar notes of vanilla, iris and patchouli.
Finally, Lidl’s Chatou perfume makes the perfect affordable alternative to Chloé’s iconic Chloé Eau de Parfum For Her, £76.50 here (was £90), with its combination of floral, woody scents coming from peony, freesia, ambergris and cedar that make it a beautifully light, romantic fragrance to wear.
As with any more budget-friendly fragrances, the longevity of the Lidl Cien perfumes isn’t the best so you will need to keep topping it up during the day. However, at just £5.25 it's perfect for chucking in your handbag and keeping on top of it during the day when you don’t want to take your more expensive, luxury version out and about.
